The service
DUPY is a software tool designed to help users plan, structure, develop, and write video scripts.
DUPY includes a desktop application and may also provide online tools and related services.
The desktop application is designed to operate primarily through local processing and local file storage. Projects and scripts created with DUPY are saved on the user's device and are not stored in a DUPY cloud account.
By accessing or using DUPY, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the service.
Eligibility
DUPY is intended for users aged 18 or older.
By using DUPY, you represent that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms;
- you will use DUPY in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.
If you are under 18, you may not use DUPY.
No account required
DUPY does not currently require users to create an account to use the desktop application.
Your projects, scripts, and related files are stored locally on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
Permitted use
You may use DUPY for lawful purposes, including creating, developing, and managing your own video scripts and creative projects.
You agree not to:
- use DUPY for any unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purpose;
- use DUPY to violate the rights of others;
- upload, submit, or process content that you do not have the right to use;
- use DUPY to distribute malware or other malicious code;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to compromise the security of DUPY or its infrastructure;
- attempt to bypass technical limitations, usage restrictions, or security measures;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of DUPY except where such activity cannot legally be restricted;
- copy, reproduce, redistribute, resell, sublicense, lease, or commercially exploit the DUPY software except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law;
- use automated methods to abuse or excessively access DUPY's online services;
- use DUPY to develop or operate a substantially competing service by systematically copying or exploiting DUPY's software, interfaces, structures, or proprietary materials.
We may apply reasonable technical limitations to online features to protect the service and its users.
Your content
You retain ownership of the scripts, ideas, text, projects, and other content you create or provide through DUPY ("User Content").
DUPY does not claim ownership of your User Content.
Because DUPY is designed to save projects locally, User Content stored within the desktop application remains on your device unless you voluntarily submit or transmit that content through an online feature.
When you use an online feature that requires your content to be processed, you grant DUPY and the service providers necessary to provide that feature a limited, non-exclusive license to process, transmit, and temporarily handle that content solely as reasonably necessary to provide the requested functionality.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to any content you submit or process through DUPY.
AI-generated content
Certain DUPY features may use artificial intelligence to assist with script writing, idea development, analysis, or other creative tasks.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or unsuitable for your intended purpose.
You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content is produced automatically;
- outputs may differ between requests;
- similar or identical outputs may be generated for different users;
- DUPY does not guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate, original, unique, or suitable for your intended purpose;
- you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and evaluating any AI-generated content before using it.
Your responsibility for content
You are solely responsible for the content you create, edit, upload, submit, publish, or otherwise use with DUPY.
DUPY does not review or approve your scripts or other User Content before you use or publish them.
You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not:
- infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- violate applicable laws or regulations;
- contain unlawful or harmful material;
- misrepresent facts or individuals;
- create legal or regulatory liability for you or others.
Ownership of DUPY
The DUPY software, website, interface, branding, visual identity, text, graphics, code, features, and other materials provided by us ("DUPY Materials") are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use DUPY in accordance with these Terms.
Except where permitted by law or expressly authorized by us, you may not:
- copy or reproduce DUPY;
- redistribute or resell the software;
- sublicense or transfer access to the software;
- modify or create derivative versions of the software;
- extract or reproduce proprietary components of DUPY;
- remove copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
DUPY Pro and paid licenses
DUPY Pro is offered as a paid software license.
The applicable price and included features are displayed on the DUPY website or checkout page at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, a DUPY Pro license is a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew as a subscription.
A paid license grants you the right to use the corresponding product and features described at the time of purchase, subject to these Terms.
If the product is advertised as including future updates or lifetime updates, those updates are provided as part of the applicable product offering. However, we do not guarantee that every future update will contain every existing feature or that the product will be developed indefinitely.
We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features in future versions.
Payments and refunds
Payments for DUPY Pro are processed through our third-party payment provider.
The payment provider may collect and process payment, billing, and transaction information according to its own terms and privacy policy.
We do not store your full payment card details.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly stated at the time of purchase, purchases are non-refundable once the product or license has been delivered.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights or statutory refund rights that apply to you under applicable law.
Software downloads and updates
DUPY may be distributed through downloadable software packages.
You are responsible for ensuring that your device meets any applicable system requirements and for maintaining a compatible operating system.
We may release updates, patches, bug fixes, improvements, or new versions from time to time.
We do not guarantee that every version of DUPY will remain compatible with every operating system or device indefinitely.
Availability, changes, and experimental features
We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the DUPY website, online tools, or services at any time.
We do not guarantee that online services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
The desktop application may continue to function locally even when certain online features are unavailable, depending on the feature involved.
Some features may be experimental, limited, or provided as part of an early-access release.
Third-party services
Certain DUPY features may rely on third-party services or infrastructure.
These services may include providers used for AI processing, hosting, analytics, payments, software distribution, email, security, or other technical functions.
Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the independent operation, availability, or policies of third-party services except where required by applicable law.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data in connection with DUPY.
By using DUPY, you acknowledge that personal data may be processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
DUPY's local desktop functionality is designed so that your projects and scripts remain stored locally on your device rather than in a DUPY cloud account.
Feedback
If you voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas, feedback, or recommendations regarding DUPY, you agree that we may use that feedback to improve or develop the product without owing you compensation.
You retain ownership of any underlying User Content you provide as part of your feedback.
Restriction of online services
We may restrict or terminate access to certain online features or services if we reasonably believe that you have:
- violated these Terms;
- attempted to circumvent technical limitations or security measures;
- used DUPY in an abusive, fraudulent, or unlawful manner;
- created a security, legal, or operational risk for DUPY or its users.
Any such restriction applies to the relevant online features or services and does not give us ownership or control over files stored locally on your device.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DUPY is provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee that:
- DUPY will meet all of your requirements;
- the software will always be uninterrupted or error-free;
- online features will always be available;
- AI-generated results will be accurate, complete, reliable, original, or suitable for your intended purpose;
- defects will always be corrected;
- future versions will contain any particular feature.
You use DUPY and any content generated through it at your own discretion and risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, consumer right, or protection that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunities, goodwill, data, or use arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, DUPY.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to DUPY or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for DUPY Pro or the specific service giving rise to the claim during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless DUPY and its owner(s), operators, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- your unlawful use of DUPY;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your User Content;
- your infringement of another person's rights;
- your violation of applicable law.
This section does not apply to the extent that the relevant claim results from our own unlawful conduct or liability that cannot legally be transferred to you.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
The updated Terms will apply from the date they are published, subject to applicable law.
If you do not agree with an updated version of these Terms, you must stop using DUPY.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the legal entity operating DUPY, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive you of mandatory rights or protections provided by the laws applicable to you.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the DUPY Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly applicable to a specific product or feature, constitute the agreement between you and DUPY regarding your use of the service.
